A
Passion For Publishing
Debbie
Hayward is often referred to as the Informer in her neighborhood
because of her involvement in the Woodlawn community. Mrs.
Hayward stays involved by publishing the Woodlawn Villager
Newspaper.
"I
strive to build up the Woodlawn community and surrounding
areas by serving as a positive resource where people can read
constructive information," says Mrs. Hayward.
As
publisher of the
Woodlawn Villager newspaper, Debbie Hayward has many
responsibilities and could not succeed without her assistant
editorDelores Douglas. Mrs. Douglas is not only the
assistant editor; she is Mrs. Hayward's mother.
After
retiring as Senior Human Resources Specialist for the Social
Security Administration in June 2003, Delores Douglas accepted
the position as assistant editor for the Woodlawn Villager.
"Seeing my daughter realize some of the dreams that she
has and display some of her talents that have been hidden
for so long is gratifying," says Mrs. Douglas.
Debbie
Hayward finds publishing the Woodlawn Villager rewarding.
"I get to work with my mom. We have become so close and
work well together," Mrs. Hayward comments. "The
two of us discover things about the community together. We
can contribute together."
Established
in 1984, the Woodlawn Villager Newspaper is distributed
to over 300 locations in Woodlawn and the surrounding areas.
The largest suppliers are the Woodlawn and Randallstown branches
of the Baltimore County Public Libraries and the Social Security
Administration.
Some
of the regular features of the Woodlawn Villager include
Community News, School Scoop, Entertainment Review, Bible
Points, Neighborhood Features, Area Business Highlights, Police
News, Gardening and Government News.
If
you are a resident of the Woodlawn community or one of the
surrounding areas, join the publisher, Debbie Hayward and
