Check Your Kids' Jewelry for Lead

Neurological problems can develop in young children if exposed to lead. Some problems that may develop are attention span, perception/motor development, IQ, speech and language processing.

Very often, children's jewelry is made of lead. Watch for dull grey looking metal or jewelry that seems heavy for their size, jewelry made of metal that you can write with or bright colored (especially orange and red) jewelry and soft plastics. Hardware stores sell kits that you may purchase to test for lead in toys and jewelry.
